Steps To The Creation Of Cinnabon Cereal
Before the Cinnabon Cereal was on the market, there were different versions of this delicious treat known as Cinnamon Mini Buns and Mini Swirls. All of them were variations of cinnamon rolls.
The Cinnamon Mini Buns were introduced in 1991. It was marketed as being without added artificial flavors and being healthy for children. “Just corn and whole grain oats and plenty of the cinnamon crunch taste they love.” Additionally, the ad was also titled “Eating 70 Cinnamon Buns Can Be Nutritious”.
Eventually, soon after it, the cinnamon mini buns were discontinued and reintroduced as “Mini Swirls”. This particular product got licensed as “Cinnabon World Famous Cinnamon Roll”. However, it was on the market for only 2 years, and in 1993, it disappeared and was replaced by Mini Swirls.
Mini Swirls is a frosted cereal brand that was first produced by Kellogg’s company. One of the first flavors of this morning’s snack was Cinnamon Bun. Mini Swirls were low in saturated fats and also had a low cholesterol level. It can be high in zinc, vitamin B, vitamin C, and iron.
This particular flavor was introduced in 2005 and was so well admired by people that soon the band released two new flavors, including the Peanut Butter and Fudge Ripple. Each piece of this cereal was in the shape of a cinnamon bun and even had flavorful toppings. So, actually, they were tiny, bite-sized cinnamon-shaped rolls.
Swirl Cinnabon Cereal was discontinued in 2009 by the manufacturer. However, no need to worry because it was reintroduced in 2010, and this time, it was called “Cinnabon Cereal.” It was called “Cinnabon” because of the agreement between Kellogg’s brand and the Cinnabon brand. Cinnabon is one of the most famous brands and the largest producer of cinnamon rolls.
A Brief History Of Kellogg’s Company
Kellogg’s is one of the leading American ready-to-eat food and cereal producers. They are most famous for corn flakes, which have been on the market for as long as people can remember. Their corn flakes are actually one of the oldest remains of breakfast cereals in the USA. The current headquarters of this company is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. Net sales of the brand reached a total of $12.6 billion in 2019.
Kellogg’s company was founded in the 1900s by two brothers, and little did they know that their small company would turn into a multinational corporation. The founders were W.K. Kellogg and John H. Kellogg. They worked together and managed to develop crunchy and flavorful corn flakes that were made from processed grains. They used this product to feed the patients in Dr. Kellogg’s Battle Creek Sanitarium.
Eventually, in 1906, the brothers separated, and W.K. Kellogg bought out the shares of his brother from the company, “Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company.” He started trying out new methods of advertising and started to work on improving the quality of their cereals. Therefore, the positive results appeared quickly, and the company prospered.
The current name of the company was adopted in 1922. This was the year when the company aimed its production entirely toward the manufacture of cornflakes. The corporation soon grew larger and larger. Eventually, it started buying other little brands. As a result, over the years, they acquired Salad Foods, Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company, and Pure Packed Foods.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the brand started to make ready-to-eat cereals alongside granola bars, cookies, crackers, and others. These products were acquired mainly from the Febbler Foods company. By that time, sales of the brand were already spread across the world and the product was seen in North America, Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
Some of the most famous brands that are manufactured by Kellogg’s are Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Pringles, Eggo, Rice Krispies, and Cheez-it. The mission statement of the brand is “Nourishing families so they can flourish and thrive”.
One of the most interesting products of all is Kellogg’s Cinnabon Jumbo Snax. This particular one is not the cereal, but a small treat that also has the taste of a cinnamon roll. It can be considered a different, candy-like version of Cinnabon Cereal. Those bite-sized snacks have a swirl shape and are baked in the oven. It is also covered in sugar dust and gives a sweet-cinnamon sensation to the receptors.
Packaging
Cinnabon Cereal comes in a 9-ounce cardboard package. The packaging is designed in blue and brown colors. There is the name of the cereal and the manufacturer printed on the front side. In the smaller letters, it states that the product is “Crunch cinnamon multigrain cereal.” Below the writing, there is a picture of the milky cereal on the spoon and an actual cinnamon roll. In large letters, the packaging states that the product is a good source of vitamin D.
There is a product description on this cereal box stating that it is “Lightly sweetened multi-grain cereal with honey and Makara cinnamon.” There are a total of five main ingredients listed on the box. These are whole oat flour, whole brown rice flour, wheat flour, Turbinado sugar, and juice concentrates.
What Is Breakfast Cereal?
Breakfast cereal is a grain food that is ready to eat and is mostly consumed with milk or cream. The cereals are often sweetened with sugar or fruit. Generally, four main basic types of breakfast cereals exist:
- Flaked cereal – It’s mainly made from withered corn, wheat, or rice;
- Puffed cereal – It’s made by exploding the cooked grain, mostly rice.
- Shredded cereal – It’s made from wheat.
- Granular cereal – This one is made from wheat, malted barley, salt, flour, and water.
All those types of cereal tend to be sugar-coated to give a sweet flavor.
What Is Cinnamon Roll Made From?
The cinnamon roll is also known as a Cinnamon Bun, Cinnamon Swirl, or Cinnamon Snail. This particular sweet pastry is common in northern Europe and North America. A cinnamon roll is a sweet roll that is generally made by rolling the sheets of dough that are yeast-leavened into cinnamon.
The main ingredients of the dough are flour, cinnamon, sugar, and butter. After it is rolled and the shape is given, the sugar mixture, which consists of raisins and other ingredients, is sprinkled on top. A thin coat of butter is also added on top.
After it is baked, the glaze is poured on top of the buns. The glaze that is poured on top mainly consists of powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk. When eating it altogether, a perfect sensation is created, and it bursts with flavors and textures when chewing.
Bottom Line
Kellogg’s Cinnabon cereal is a perfect start to a busy morning. It fills you up with the essential elements for the day and will help your brain make better ideas and decisions.
