They were originally made by a company named York and that is what the candy bar was named after. This chocolate candy bar is primarily available in the UK and surrounding regions, and it may be harder to find now. 

Yorkie bars were created to compete with Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bars. It’s a simple chocolate made with milk chocolate. It’s creamy and delicious in so many ways. The pieces are little squares all combine together and you can easily just break them apart to enjoy the candy bar piece by piece. 

This chocolate bar sports some interesting history. It was designed to bring a “manly” candy bar to the industry. Most men probably don’t really discriminate when they want a candy bar, but it seemed to have some appeal at that time. 

The brand even commonly used marketing tactics that were primarily directed at men. These bars came out in 1976. Some of the marketing campaigns include things like “rough and tough truckers” and more.
